Prepare the Way for the King
“and saying, "Repent, for the kingdom of heaven is near." This is he who was spoken of through the prophet Isaiah: "A voice of one calling in the desert, 'Prepare the way for the Lord, make straight paths for him.'" John's clothes were made of camel's hair, and he had a leather belt around his waist. His food was locusts and wild honey.”

X / TwitterJohn the Baptist came with a simple but powerful message: "Repent, for the kingdom of heaven is near." Repentance is more than feeling sorry for sin. It is a change of heart that leads to a changed life. John called people to remove every obstacle that kept them from receiving the Lord.
His lifestyle reflected his message. He did not seek comfort, popularity, or wealth. He faithfully pointed people to Christ. Like John, we are called to prepare our hearts daily by turning away from sin, living in obedience, and helping others know Jesus. When our lives reflect God's truth, we become voices that prepare the way for the King in our generation.
